hill is a very attractive, progressive town situated on the Western Highway halfway between Adelaide and Melbourne. In the heart of prosperous cereal and wool growing country, Nhill is home to several well established industries:

The Little Desert National Park and Big Desert Wilderness Park are close by and attract many visitors who come to appreciate the unique beauty of 670 varieties of flowering native plants and 220 species of native birds and animals, including the endangered Malleefowl. The unique Australian Malleefowl, know as the 'LOWAN" by Aborigines, has for many years drawn visitors throughout the world to the Little Desert Nature Lodge located at the edge of the Little Desert National Park. Nhill residents have access to a wide range of sporting activities and facilities; tennis, bowling, golf, football, cricket, squash, swimming, motor sports, hockey and equestrian. Community clubs servicing the district include Apex, Lions, Rotary and Young Farmers.
Nhill's educational facilities include Kindergarten, Primary to year 12 College, Catholic and Lutheran primary schools and ‘Cooinda’ Adult Day Centre.
