The Little Desert National Park and Big Desert Wilderness Park are close by and attract many visitors who come to appreciate the unique beauty of 670 varieties of flowering native plants and 220 species of native birds and animals, including the endangered Malleefowl. The unique Australian Malleefowl, know as the 'LOWAN" by Aborigines, has for many years drawn visitors throughout the world to the Little Desert Nature Lodge located at the edge of the Little Desert National Park.
