Health Promotion
One of our main objectives at Grampians Community Health is about ensuring people have access to sufficient information to make decisions about their own health and well being. Every worker at GCH undertakes the task of Health Promotion with the role of Health Promotion Coordinator to enhance and expand on that work.
In previous years, a range of health promotional activities have been launched. The focus for some has been on particular programs and services whilst other activities encompassed a whole Centre approach. One example of this is the community membership newsletter which aims to keep members and other services in touch with the work and programs on offer at Grampians Community Health.
The creation of a universal image for all our campuses is another highlight. With six campuses and over 40 programs working from within Grampians Community Health, it is important to present a unified Centre. The fact that GCH is the underlying support no matter whether accessing services in Horsham, Stawell or Ararat will help provide a sense of continuity and strength to the programs and those accessing them.
Other health promotional work has included expos, specialised days and events, the support and launch of various projects and programs within GCH, external and internal newsletters, Grampians Pyrenees Primary Care Partnership involvement and the development of a Grampians Community Health image. A strong platform has been formed for ongoing Health Promotional work.
