   About Us

Mental illness often causes individuals to withdraw from family, friends and society. Due to the isolation resulting from withdrawing, the individual often has difficulty re-establishing themselves within their community.

During the course of their illness many social skills are lost, confidence and self-esteem are diminished and isolation is further compounded.

The Balgartnie Centre provides:
Day Progams
Home Based Outreach Support (HBOS)
Planned Respite
Seniors Groups
Carer's Support & Respite

Therapy Groups:

  • 'Hearing Voices'
  • 'Stepping Stones' (Depression & Anxiety)
  • 'Young Mothers' (Post Natal Depression)
  • 'Autism Spectrum Disorders' (Secondary Consultation)
All programs follow a similar premise to;
  • Promote self-esteem
  • Improve communication skills
  • Re-establish social contact within the community
  • Promote and enhance social skills
  • Provide a safe, friendly and supportive environment
  • Introduce new interests, skills and activities
  • Introduce new challenges and individual choice
  • Show acceptance of the individual
