Housing and Family Violence Team

Homelessness

Homelessness is not always visible - it walks beside each and everyone of us everyday.

Housing is a basic human right. The majority of homeless people have possessions and what they do have is very valuable to them. Homeless people generally lose their housing not their belongings. Homelessness does not discriminate - loss of employment, rising interest rates or income is a major factor.  The devastating impact this has on people’s lives is universal. Every community member can be impacted by homelessness - family, friend or neighbour.
